Collectivo: Towards the Distant Light

  • Thomas Dixon Centre 406 Montague Road West End, QLD, 4101 Australia (map)

ABOUT THE CONCERT

An evocative journey through shadow and radiance, Toward the Distant Light traces a path from introspective depth and soaring lyricism to rhythmically vibrant, jazz-tinged brilliance and electrifying momentum.

Anchored by Schubert’s monumental Piano Trio No. 2, with its haunting Andante, the program also features Bruch’s richly expressive Four Pieces, Gareth Farr’s exhilarating Shadow of the Hawk, and Svante Henryson’s jazzy Off Pist.

We are especially thrilled to welcome New Zealand cello soloist Matthias Balzat, making his Queensland debut. Hailed as one of the finest cellists in the southern hemisphere, Matthias joins internationally acclaimed pianist Konstantin Shamray, violin virtuoso Kristian Winther, and Tania for this striking and emotionally resonant program.

Expect a performance that moves effortlessly between introspection and brilliance, led by some of the most exciting voices in classical music today.
